I encountered the bug about a week ago. When the character engages in main conversations (in "movie" mode, so to speak), the game will crash and cause the computer to restart. This doesn't happen all the time, only in certain conversations. For example, in the module "Tragedy in Tragidor" in the town, when you come to the woman's grave at the creek, a conversation will start. The game crashed twice today at the same point.

I didn't try the original modules yet, but the same problem came up in others. I installed the game anew and updated to 1.22 only yesterday, so it's not a patch issue.

The only thing I changed recently was an update to the NVIDIA drivers. But I doubt they cause the crashes.

    Has anyone any ideas?

    defrag your harddrive

reinstall the module, check that hak packs etc are located correctly.

    patch up.

I know, not much good advice really, since you probably have done all this.

Pretty much, yes. Except for de-fragmenting.

strangely enough, I have heard people going from constant crashes to perfect working games, by just defragmenting. But it is a second hand story, so I don't know how effective it will be.
especially since your CTD seems to be tied to specific instances.

    Well, waddayaknow...

It was indeed a problem with the recent forceware driver. Although I cannot understand that it only caused problems with the conversation mode. I hope, the next version won't have that issue.
