I have my cynical day today: After the afghans were lucky to endure their newgiven freedom as a result of "Operation Enduring Freedom" (the name is program) the liberation of Iraq has brought benefit and prosperity to the streets of Baghdad and other cities and the lucky inhabitants of this once developed country.

Protected by fearless and grownup liberators they look into a bright future.

Why is it that some countries have to repeat their vietnams over and over only because their politicians and people forget so soon?

I can't help but when thinking about Bush, Iraq's "collaboration with Al Quaieda" and the WMDs and 9/11 and the "liberation" of iraq I can't get Johnson, Vietnam and the tonkin incident out of my mind.

It's not the politicians who forget, it's the people. As long as the people don't complain (too much), politicians can do whatever they please.

Yes, Americans have no historical perspective of policy or events. History here is scoffed at by most. In fact, football coaches are often the ones teaching it in many high schools. The media here tries its best to keep any real knowledge or information out of the minds of the masses. It is just not profitable enough to do otherwise. The value system is measured by dollars, not by humanity.

You will find more news on the Lacy Peterson case than you will about what is going on with our government and any meaningful debate on the issues that affect so many. I can rant all night on what is happening to my country right now, but I guess I will just stop here -- for now.
