[IMG] For the majority of time that I've been playing torment, there have been no sound effects or voices. The ambient sounds and music seem to work alright.
I didn't realise there were supposed to be voices or sfx until they started working for a brief time. Sometimes they work. But most of the time they don't. It's completely inconsistent, but for the most part, they're not there.
For the record, I'm running the 4 disc version, with the official patch and both fixes, and I modified the .ini file to run most of the game from the hard drive.
I've looked around and haven't found any reference of similar problems, other than tabbing out causing the sound effects to skip, which I haven't been doing.
    Any ideas?

[IMG] Have you checked the sound settings in the config programs?

Also you may want to check on your speaker setup. Sounds similar to a problem I had with a game a while back on my old laptop where in the sound settings for the laptop, not the game, were not what the game was expecting so it didn't play properly, iirc, only echoes from the right side and sounds that came from the right of the player played through.

Not sure if that is applicable here but may be something to look at :) Hope you find a solution soon.

[IMG] Changing the speaker settings to stereo seems to have fixed the problem for now! Thanks for your advice! and sorry for wasting forum space.

i guess what i'm going to do now is move my intestines around my inventory a lot, and click on morte and send him places over and over again.
