    Im curious as to how customizable the family system is? Can we replace the spider with a goat, or the cat with a mouse?
    And by replace, I mean in say a module by flipping a familiar switch.
    If you want to modify what familiars are available (add/subtract), you will be able to do that in .2das very easily.

    Do familiars soak EXP?
    No. In general, summoned creatures (including familiars) do not soak XP. I believe that summoned creatures of that sort are part of the benefits enjoyed by certain classes. Fighters get bonus feats, druids get shapechanging, wizards and sorcerers get familiars.

    Ask the devs if they wear any pants at the office.
    That entirely depends on weather if its casual pants day or not. Unless of course its Darren Monahan, and in that case no he never wears pants. In all seriouslness expect some more news on A-Kon goings on tomorrow.
