    A little micro-fiction, flash-fiction, etc...

    ------

    Near Wolfdale

A howl behind him told Jon exactly where he was: Wolfdale. The wind and snow had been blinding him, but now it seemed to let up slightly. Enough for him to clearly see the trees around him. He stopped running, knowing it would only waste his remaining breath.

He remembered what he had always been told about Wolfdale: Don’t go alone. Don’t go unarmed. But most of all, if you hear them howl, it’s too late.

Jon heard panting behind him. He could feel many pairs of eyes watching him.

He turned slowly. “Too late”, he mused.

Once he was lost, now…he was found.
