Multiplayer: an assertion failed in chvideo.cpp

    Hi to all, first of all sorry for my bad english but I'm Italian Boy :)
    This is my problem on Icewind Dale:
    I try to create a New Game in Multiplayer and the game crashed with a black screen!
    If I push "alt+tab" to turn on my desktop, I can see this error:
    "an assertion failed in chvideo.cpp at line number "

    I have Windows Vista, Nvidia GeForce 8600 at 512MB.
    I try to play multiplayer game with TCP/IP.

    Can somebody help me? :(

    I think you've come across a new problem.

    Unfortunately, I can only provide the usual generic advice: make sure you have the latest patches for the game and your video card. You might also want to check the Microsoft site for that specific failure. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

    In your black isle>icewind dale folder there should be something called "Icewind Dale Configuration" go to the Graphics tab and there should be a section called Window Mode, check the bubble for Windowed.

    There isn't :(

    In Config.exe there is Option 3D, but any Window Mode :(
    Can someone control it?

    (I'm sorry for my bad english :()

    Maybe this will help? The 3d section is up in the right and the windowed option is in red - but I don't use vista so it might be different for you!

    Hmmm that seems to be the "Game" menu. As it has the cache size etc. Then again it does have the OpenGL option...

    Have you looked through the other tabs? There are four, they seem to have options in different places in the English and Italian versions. At least, I think that is Italian. Try looking through all of the tabs for something that says "Window Options" or something similar.

    Otherwise I think the only way to have my configuration options is to install the English version of the game. :(

    I've found the solution! :cool:
    With the combination alt+enter the game become windowed and the multiplayer game starts!

    (I know that my english is terrible :D)

    Do you have the expansion installed? I think the difference is that Rahkir does and you don't...

    I've got a new problem now..

    My CD2 of IWD (without expansion) is corrupt (not go very well).
    I try to copy all CD into my Hard Disk but one file is corrupt :(

    The filename is: SNDvo.bif

    Where I can download only that file?
    Otherwise I will need a No-CD crack or similar...

    I think that isn't the CD's corrupt but it's a new problem :(
