I stumbled upon this site yesterday, a place where you can order exact duplicates of famous movieswords, and i kinda got interrested in buying one. I haven't made up my mind yet though, the katana from Blade is cool, but i also like Aragorn's sword. Heck...i even think the Uruk-Hai scimitar is cool, brutal yet simple. :D

I only have one question...how on earth will something like this come through customs ?

Sword are cool, though I don't know why people want Fantasy sword, they're pale comparasion of real weaponry.

I'd much like a Roman Glavius Meself.

My guess would be: in a box. ;)

I personally prefer my wooden practice sword. It's made of heavy duty wood, so it's as weighty and durable as the real thing, but I don't have to polish it.

How do swords get through customs? The sword gets locked into its scabbard (peace bonded) or traveling case and either taken on as a carry-on item or sent via cargo with the rest of the luggage. :)

Yeah, i would prefer getting a custom made one...

I was going to get a steel katana from a guy my dad knows, but I didn't have 900 dollars on me...

    So cool, though.

nm the sword, get a replica of the shield that Brad-as-Achilles used in Troy. That's awesome. I myself have a replica helm that the Anglo-Saxon warriors had. Looks kinda like Dr. Doom's mask.

I want the Iron Man Mask.

A (distant) cousin of mine makes swords -- and really big knives (he made the Rambo knife). I can't afford any of them.

But I do have a sword. It looks like this. It was the same type as used in many movies including Officer and a Gentleman.

[IMG] Frosty has Luciendar. It's cool. Has made a few holes in things though. :rolling:

I like Browsing SwordsOnline.com has movie swords and stuff as well.

I've had no problem with swords coming through customs either. Only the customs charge which can be more than the P&P in the first place!

NOW we're getting in to the subject i like!
    Personally, i have no swords, but i'm a bladed weapons-Geek. :D
If i would ever get to choose some sword for myself, it would be Zweihänder, the biggest two-handed sword ever made. Length is up to 6 feet, quite big in my opinion. And still, the weight is only 5.5 - 11 pounds.
There's just something in it that i like, dunno what.
Here's a replica of Zweihänder, or Doppelhänder:

@ 8people: I doubt (actully i know) thats not real Masamune. Since only swords made by Masamune (real name Goro Nyodo) can be called masamunes, IIRC. And he lived in 1300, so... :)
But, anyway, that's great quality katana.

Thanks for the link, Ofelix. I found a picture close enough to my sword on the same site, though the crossguard on mine is just slightly downward-curved while the one in the picture is upward-curved.
That practice katana looks pretty sweet; maybe I should get one of those too... :hmm:
