Just reinstalled my 4-cd version of Torment, and patched it up.

Last time i played it through was in 2000, and i can't remember if the game had footstep sounds for player characters. I see that there's a 'footsteps' entry in the .ini, mine is set to 1 - but I'm not hearing any movement sounds in-game, nor any sounds of doors and containers opening - All other FX play as normal, and its just possible the game didn't have the sounds i'm looking for to start with, - I've just been playing too much IWD2 lately and it seems like something's missing when i flip over to torment.

If there are supposed to be movement sounds, i'll post specs and set to tweaking...
