Just curious, does anyone know the stats on monk's fists. I know that they do 1-20 damage and are considered a +3 weapon at some point. At +3 are they considered to be a normal weapon or a magical weapon?

A Monk's fists become +3 at level 15. I think that's when they do 1d20 points of damage, too, I'll have to check. Yes, they are magical weapons, starting from when they become +1, at level 9 or 10.

I have a question. How does the unarmed combat system work in conjunction with the equipping of a weapon for the monk?

I would assume the weapon is used "normally" depending on the monks proficiencies. I'm still pondering one bit though. If you equipped one weapon in your norm hand, and nothing in your other, would it be counted as Sword/Fist with attacks from both arms, or would it be counted as a single weapon deal where only the sword would be used?

    unrelated question...
Do monkns acquire strongholds or any magical items/weapons (from class quests)?

  6. Monks get the same stronghold as fighters (the keep), though I'm not sure about their magical items.

I've used that flame sword with my monk when fighting trolls, she only uses the sword, not sword and fist.

Just adding a few items to the above comments.

If you review the 'kit description' area on your Monk's record page (under Bio,Information, etc) you'll see all of the benefits of the class. Such as when a Monks' fists are considered +1, +2 or +3 (15htlvl). Also you'll see movement rate increases, magic resistance info, immunities as well as AC increases.

Interestingly enough my MONK attack rate 'transferred' over to any weapon that I used. -don't know if it is a bug that will be fixed but I could use a Long Sword or Short Sword and get 4 attacks near the end of the game. But I rarely used any weapon due to the +3 Fists that do 1d20 (x4 att/round) that a Monk eventually gets.

The only 'custom' item that I've heard of are the 'Gauntlets of Crushing'. These Add to a Monks fists and give a +4/+4 THAC0 & Damage. -SPOIL-.... given by the Saughin King.
