Shouldn't a monk be able to use a staff? It is a very basic weapon, and they are martial artist type weapons.

I wondered the same thing, but when I first chose to be a monk in my first game, I had no idea how it would turn out to be. Anyway, for this game at least, the rule of thumb is no two-handed weapons for monks, so there goes quarterstaves...

This is the difficulties we get when Bio-ware imports kung-fu in Forgotten realms :toofar:

[IMG] My first impression when I heard you could be a monk was something more like Friar Tuck, but it turned out to be more like Bruce Lee

The monk action sprite can't handle two-handed weapons. I went through a lot of hassle to change a character's action sprite from a fighter to a monk (long story, but the "black" fighter hair is sort of silver, which looked too stupid for me to deal with, so I changed him to a sprite that can have normal black hair.)

Anyway, when he's wielding single-handed weapons it's no problem, but he went and wielded the Silver Sword at one point, and his sprite started karate-kicking enemies while the sword swung around by itself! It was pretty whacked...
