[IMG] Wow! What a great movie!!! I felt like I was really at the beginning of the 19th century!

The story was great! The special effects - awesome!! There's a lot of tension in the battle scenes, and there's nothing better than watching broadside volleys!!!

    Awesome, awesome, awesome movie!!!!!!!!!

Cool, I saw the trailer and said I must go see it. Pirates of the Caribbean sure brought back pirates and the naval battles to the cinema. :thumb:

[IMG] I'm not asking for spoilers or anything, but what is the movie about?

[IMG] This is a total guys movie! I think there is only one woman in the whole thing, and only for a second. It's all about guys on the ocean, battle, and comaraderie!

Without giving away anything - the movie is about the HMS Surprise, an English vessel with orders to destroy, disable, or take as a prize, the Acheron - a French frigate built in Boston. The movie takes place during the Napoleonic Wars.

It is an awesome movie!!! Battle on the high seas! I agree, Tal...Pirates of the Caribbean and Master and Commander will bring back the swashbuckler film!!!

** One last thing - Pippin from LotR is the helmsman!!! Keep an eye out for him - He's regular height though! ;) **

The yahoo movie critics, that's critics not fans gave it an A-, that's the best I've ever saw them give.

Can't wait for the movie to come to holland.

I was just a little excited about this, but I didn't want to show it, now I can! :thumb: (man, Russell Crowe has certainly put on the beef)

[IMG] Well, I came to start a thread such as this, but I thought I remembered seeing it, and yup, Sir Bel beat me to it.

While you're waiting for RotK, go see this. It's a great movie. It started OK (regular Hollywood action), then got a little better, and better, and by the end it was nothing short of amazing. It actually flirts with being a documentary at times. I wish more films were like this one.

I would be there, right now, watching the movie...

But my friend got sick and I didn't want to see it alone.

It wasn't quite as brilliant as I was expecting, but it was still really really good. All that water makes you really want to pee...

Not a bad trailer. Looks like it is worth seeing.

    @Bel

I thought that they were kidding when they said you see every movie.

I think I'll go see it... it's got some verry good actors in it. (Not Crowe, he's the one actor from the Down Under that I DON'T fancy... ) Namely, Billy Boyd. (If I haven't been thoroughly misled)

What's wrong with Crowe's acting? He's generally extremely good and convincing and all.

Oh, nothing wrong with his acting, he's GREAT... but I don't FANCY him :p Not the way I fancy other actors from your neck of the woods, like Hugo Weaving or Marton Csokas :p
