This will be a free form, no rules based rp. Since we will be having characters on different sides of a lethal conflict, here's how we will handle it. Unless you have arranged it per the OOC or pm with another character, you may not kill another character. You may, however, attack another character, within reason, either they or you will decide the result. With the vagaries of highvelocity projectile combat, lots of weird things could happen.

    For example,

Pierre watched the German staff car roll down the lane towards him, at 50 meters he opened up with the captured German light machine gun.

(Then the German in the car could decide how badly he is wounded, if at all.

    Or.

Nadine waited till the sentry passed by before stepping out of the dark and whacking him a good one with her black jack.

So general rule, the good and bad guys will probably live to fight another day, though of course NPC cannon fodder can drop like flies when the shooting starts. Remember, even when a tank gets hit by AP, often one or two crew members manage to make it out without much more than a scratch. (Though I doubt we will have armor duels for quite awhile.)

For character details, use descriptions more than numerical stats. Include name, sex, age, nationality, languages spoken, rank (if applicable) and back history or special skills. For example, Jean-Luc has been an avid bird hunter since he was fourteen, and is quite the shot with the rifle and shotgun, or Hans tried out for boxing in the 1936 Olympics, and made it to the Bavarian championships before being cut from the team.

Here's a template to copy and paste:

    History:

I'll give it a little while to see what we get as a population for our RP, then decide what we need to fill things out. I may be the German commander in the area, or if someone else wants that role, I may just send him orders and dispatches from the regional CO in La Rochelle. Also, I may assume the role of the Maquis leader, or again if someone else wants that just have coded orders broadcast over the BBC. And Nakia, your call on whether the school is a convent one just for girls or otherwise.

Here are some acronyms that might be helpful:

FFI - Force Francaise de l'Interier (French Resistance)
SOE - British Special Operations Executive
OSS - U.S. Office of Strategic Services

LFC - Legion Francaise des Combattants (French Legion of Fighters) a PRO-German paramilitary group, in 1943 it turned into the
    SOL - Service d'Ordre Legionaire

    Sex: Male
    Age: 38
    Nationality: Austrian
    Languages spoken: German, sparse French
    Rank: Sniper
    Special skills: Sharp Shooter
History: Ademaro, which means glorious in battle, is a married man with two children, he is from a small town in Austria. His father fought in the first war, he somehow knew there'd be another, so he trained his youngest son in marksmanship. Adermaro didn't agree with the reasons of the war, but he realised he couldn't do anything about it. He fights to defend his family, not for Germany. He is a superbe marksman, but has the habit of closing his eyes before he fires on a man, it tends to make him wound the man instead of killing him. He was trasfered to the french town, because of his habit. He now sits on the highest officers roof or guards important buildings. He is quite short, being 5'6", and skinny. He has blonde hair and the classic blue eyes. He has been accused of missing targets on purpose, but it couldn't be prooved.

    Name: Wülfgang Rutkowski
    Sex: Male
    Age: 28
    Nationality: Polish-German
Languages Spoken: German, Polish, English, French.
Rank: Former Sergeant in the now defeated Polish army, currently part of the FFI.
Education: Full elementary school education as well as college education in chemistry. Completed boot camp and attended officer school, but failed the latter due to lack of dicipline.
Equipment: One Russian Mosin Nagant,(five-bullet clip, 7.62x54mm, bolt action, fifteen bullets in total) one Polish VIS wz35(eight bullets, 9.19mm ammo, twenty-four bullets in total), one Molotov Cocktail, one foldable bayonet, a pack of German cigars with a lighter, as well as a basic kit of making lesser explosives.

    Info:
Born the second child in the small Polish village of Tuchola to a Polish father and German mother, Wülfgang was raised to be a catholic as well as follow in his father's, a decorated WWI veteran from the Polish-Russian war, footsteps as an army officer. At an early age his father took him out hunting and he proved to get to know the tools of the trade quite well.

After finishing both elementary school(during which time his father died from a horse-riding accident) and college, in which he finished with a Chemistry degree, he joined the army. He managed to achieve the rank of Sergeant before he turned twenty-six in '38, but failed the following officer courses due to a lack of dicipline.

As a result, he was sent to the 27th Infantry Division to help guard his hometown Tuchola in case of a German offensive into Poland.

The war came, and he fought well together with his unit. It wasn't until the Battle of Bory Tucholskie, or as it was also known the Battle of Tuchola Forest, that the unit suffered it's heaviest losses. Many died, even more were captured, but some, Wülfgang included, managed to flee into the Russian-controlled parts of Poland and from there get funds and a means to escape to France.

He managed to make his way to Lucon in France, where he worked as a stableboy in order to defend himself. As the Germans attacked there as well he joined the FFI in order to help damage the German War Effort with the aid of his experience and chemistry expertise.

There will also be others Sisters as NPC's and some lay sisters. I may have to toss in an occasionally brother or priest. Then of course there is the Bishop but I'll let Scot handle that one unless he wants me to or we get a volunteer. Scot and I have agreed that the Bishop is a German sympathizer.

    The Magister:

England never bombed Germany during the Polish invasion. However, they airdropped supplies, so he could have been an escort fighter instead.

Just sayin', in case ya wanna keep up with historical accuracy.

Did they have any medium bomber raids on German forces during the French invasion? If so, that's another possibility of where he could have been shot down.

Scot: No, no bombings really, the Luftwaffe had complete air superiority. It wasn't really until they lost the Battle of Britain the English started to send out pilots of British, French, and Polish origin in the American planes to take out the German strongholds.

And even when they did, no fighter crafts went with them, as they barely made it over the English channel and back.

So, my reccomendation is that he was either an English or French pilot flying for the miniscule French Air Force before they were pretty much annihilated, or he flied one of the few Polish aircraft in the beginning of the war.

A note about the Silenced Sten:

The silencer wore out after only a few clips, three if one were lucky. They were the first mass-produced silencers, so they had some hefty faults.

Also, they were prone to jamming, taking the gun with them in the process.

Yeah, try to empty the entire clip in one burst and the **** is gonna overheat, becoming too hot to both use and remove.

Yup, as as the Silenced Sten I'll be using is a MkII, it'll be heavier and more likely to jam. Fun for all!
Oh, I also forgot that I'll obviously have a radio of sorts for chatting with the boys back home.
