Well, it was just a matter of time. This link says it all.

I'm posting this here as a continuation of the old Lynch debate, not just as a movie link. (It would be in Whatnots otherwise.)

Following the line, that she most likely never has asked to be a "hero" or "star" of a movie, will she get money for that movie ? Not because she'd be greedy, but for recompensation reasons. She's now in the lime-light and the rest of her life, she has to live with the fact, that she is "the private Jessica Lynch". For good or for worse. But it's not anyones thing to stand in the spotlight and to cope with fame. And additionally the fact, that she possibly can't afford an office with 10 employes who answer all the phone-calls of interested groups and the media.

Just plain stupid, but I can't say I'm surprised - it's just more of the "rah rah" attitude being emphasised in the U.S. media over the whole Iraq affair. They should put the standard disclaimer at the start - "Any resemblance to actual people or events is unintentional" (or however that actually goes).

[IMG] AAAARRGHH!!!! Gimme a friggin' break! For gods sake, she doesn't deserve her own movie. This just keeps getting lamer and lamer.

That's it...I'm moving to Canada!  Clear off the couch, Depaara...I'm coming to crash.

I agree Splunge about the disclaimer. The thing is, I don't hold Lynch at fault at all. She just happens to be one of the very very few positive stories that's come out of this whole mess, so the press is gonna squeeze every drop of positive PR they can out of her. God I hate the press.

It reminds me of the old silly war movie ideas that were rampant during WWII. Next we'll go back to having newreels from the "glorious front." The real difference is that Lynch really was in the army; Reagan and John Wayne both got out of having to do time in real combat by making these kinds of cheesy war films.

[IMG] Here's another link, and a spoiler for the Lynch the Hero - The Book.

The girl won't need to do a day's work ever again - just the royalties from the book and movie(s) should being her a small fortune.

That may be a good thing, since she's likely to have to leave the army on a medical disability discharge. I won't claim to know what her other plans for the future were, but...

Well I can understand the book, many who have expirienced such things decide to write one for instance here in Finland two guys were held hostages by some guriella fighters somewhere near malysia (ok so I don't know how to spell it right) and when they were released they wrote a book. But I agree that the movie is way too much.
