[IMG] Whats Your Favorite Love song and Why? It can be sad or happy doesn't matter.

Mine? Humm, So Many. Right now off the top of my head I would choose:

Jets to Brazil - Sweet Avenue
    or
    Something Corporate - Konstantine

Why? Becuase I can relate both lyrics to my life, sadly they both are on the sad side, I really dont know that many good cheerful love songs.

My favorite love song is "I love you, Period" It goes like this:

    I love you, period
Do you love me, question mark
    Oh, Baby, Baby, exclamation point
I want to hold you in parentheses.

And if you believe that's my favorite song, you're crazy!

My real favorite love song is "To Make You Feel My Love" as performed by Billy Joel (many people have covered it, including Garth Brooks, but the Joel version is my fave.)

Sara, by Bob Dylan is wonderful. So sad and full of emotion, it always makes me break down and cry.

I like several. The two that always make me cry are Someday Out of the Blue by Elton John and The Glory of Love by Peter Satera. I love those two songs.

For our wedding song, Velcro and I chose Sarah MacLachlan's "Ice Cream."

Other than that, I love the song "It Had To Be You"

Our wedding song was Savage Garden's "Truly, Madly, Deeply"

I wanted "Dude looked like a Lady" but for some reason my wife kaiboshed that one. Strange woman.

[IMG] There are a lot but I like Bridges by Kevyn Lettau. I think she was part of Sergio Mendes when the song was released. There's a Portugese version too but I don't know how close it is to the English version.

There are only a selected few around here that have had the privilege to hear, or at least understand, my favourite love song. It's called Avond (evening) sung by Boudewijn de Groot another great song in dutch is Nobelprijs done by clouseau. In english it's probably the river by Bruce Springsteen (I know it's not really a love song, but it's so impressive!) or Bon Jovi's Always.

Funny that is. I always hated that song! And now I've got a girlfriend and lo and behold! I actually like it!! brrr Girls can do strange things to you!! ;) :p

@Something Corporate: Same to me, I don't know any cheerful one maybe 'Only you' excepted.

    Favourite ones are:

    Moonriver

    Who wants to live forever

    But know many more...

They don't relate to this aspect of my life directly, however. Here pavane pour une enfante defunte, some military marches and gregorian/classical sacral ones belong.

I agree with Eze. "Always" is the one.

But Ancalimon isn't far from the mark, either.

(One with no other but a pair of imaginary elves...)

When Sorrow Sang - Blind Guardian.

It's about Beren and Luthien Tinuviel, from Tolkien's work.

Not a happy love song, right? :aww: I don't know too many of those that I enjoy.. My favorite sad love song would have to be Red House Painters - Void.

Space Dye Vest - Dream Theater.
    Really good stuff.
It's heavily sentimental and unlike a Dream Theater stuff not many guitar or drum based. Keyboard works fine.
