Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch - Review

One of my core gaming memories from the mid-90s is the original Final Fantasy for NES; leading a team of warriors, fighters, and mages into the unknown and fighting for survival-and glory.

Back then, I was just a kid completely in awe of the adventure put before me; could I lead my team safely through a dangerous world? Or would we be slain by monsters and dark magic? That's a lot of responsibility for a youngster.

The roots were set, and medieval fantasy became part of the foundation of my love not only for video games, but for literature as well. I began writing my own stories and jumping at the chance to play any game where swords and spells were involved, and approximately thirty years later, I'm still doing it.

Naturally, I jumped at the chance to play The Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch in early access, and it's been an honor to experience the game and write this review. If you're a fan of tactical RPGs or roguelites, this is a game you definitely need to play. It's an addicting, exciting adventure with a ton of replayability, and while it may not be perfect, it has the X-factor that makes for a truly memorable gaming experience.

Final Thoughts:
Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is a refreshing roguelite tactical RPG with thoughtfully crafted character design, challenging turn-based combat, and customizable playstyles. While I'd like to see additional ways to interact with the environment during battle, and possibly more variations of routes to take at forked roads, these are very minor things that could hopefully be added in later. Overall, I've had an absolute blast with Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch; there's a lot of replay value and exciting possibilities.
