When I read Trillex's post 2 or 3 weeks ago, I summed up a number of people who had died recently. Then I also realized that my father wouldn't live very long either, but I would never have thought it would be this short.
Now he lies here besides me. Nomore coughing, no stinking medicines, no pain, no heart-disease, no lung-embolisms, but eternal joy!

I feel quite confident right now, but I think that will change soon, when I realize that I miss him.

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."
    -Romans 8:18

My sincere condolences. I don't have to tell you this, because most likely you already know, but if there's anything I can do for you, please tell me. My thoughts are with you and your family, my friend.

Edit: Take comfort in the knowledge that he is in a better place now. In the presence of God.

My condolences too.. I must quite admit that I didn't miss my dad quite as much the first week but now it has grown to nearly insanity.

This might be depressing to read but actually, this saturday I've dreamt of my dad being alive and where I've visited, I stood up and wanted to call him. Just to see how he was doing. I KNEW he was dead and he stayed that way but my other part of the brain said otherwise. It was when I heard 'this number is not registered' I fell down, crying.

Hope it will go better for you than me. It hurts missiong someone you care about.

I personelly never like the word condolence, it feels like congratulating someone with their loss.

So I'm not going to use it this time, but I will say that I am sorry for your loss and wish you all the strength in the following time.

I'm really sorry for your loss; although I can't truly empathize with you, I do hope that your father is happy where he is now. :)

Speaking from experience (I lost my father when I was 8, my step-father when I was 18 and my mother when I was 32), I can tell you that what you are experiencing is exactly the same as what I went through. You start out feeling kind of numb, perhaps not even sure how to feel. Then once the numbness wears off, you can begin the grieving process. It’s not easy, but after awhile you will come to terms with it. You have my deepest sympathies, but rest assured that time does indeed heal all wounds.

No words fit ... but the Romans passage you wrote comes close.

    I'm with ya brother.

My condolences, MoN. I know how it feels, I watched my most beloved grandpa die for weeks. All I wanted to do was to cry and kick everything and damn world's judgement.
    My deepest condolences friend.

I'm sorry you lost your father, Nuhn. No amount of words or clever proverb I quote or come up with will be able to soothe your pain. Just know that he's in a way better place then this.

My condolences. I know the previous post was posted in Whatnots, but I think that AoDA is a more appropriate place for such topics, so I'm moving them both there.
