    Hi All,

    Hope everyone is doing well?

I recently got into old PCs ( or rather PCs from my late teens ), inspired by Lazy Game Reviews on YouTube, so I got myself an old Windows 98 machine. One of the first things I did was rebuy IWD2 as it was one of the Black Isle games I never completed.

Anyway; Everything is going well enough and I get to the logging camp. Kill the orcs and rescue the villagers, and this is where everything grinds to a halt.

Despite every orc ( I have checked the whole map at least four times now ) being dead and all the barrels around the villagers being destroyed, the villagers refuse to acknowledge their freedom.

The quest giver wont speak to me either, I'd revert back to a prior save, but having moved on to the next screen, then back a few times, I don't have one.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi Everyone,

I decided in the end to just start over.

Incidentally I think what caused it is one of the Orc guards paniced and ran away. I didnt hunt him down and left that area, I returned later and he was waiting for me. I think it rendered the quest broken though.

I have since brought my new party up to the same area and completed it without issue.

    Cheers!

    1. Keep multiple saves. Hard drive space is nearly free. Also helps if you want to go back in a year or so to replay a particularly fun battle.
    2. The cheat console can be used to bypass stuck quests.
