I have a friend who had it done, and he has to use eyedrops every hour or so. He said he was told that was a normal thing, and not a small chance occurrence. Sounds pretty obnoxious to me, but wearing glasses is a pain too. I'm really not sure which I would do, if lasic were an option.

That would be a nightmare, but I think that's rare.

Eyedrops every hour would be awful. Glasses are a pain, but they aren't *that* bad.

Good to hear things seem to be going well for you BA. :thumb:

Chronic dry eye is one of the most common side effects of Lasik - a nightmare for the rest of your life. The first link I posted above explains it in detail.

[IMG] You can worry about that if it lasts more than its expected period ;)

Glad to hear the procedure went well for you, I hope you heal swiftly and you don't get any of the horrible issues listed above!

Thanks guys. I've woken up this morning and WOW. My vision is better than with my glasses, and I have no more soreness/discomfort. I can see things in such detail.

I'm very happy I had this done! I don't think it's premature to say this is one of the best things I've done. Wish I'd done it sooner!

£640 quid mate. I qualified for the £395 per eye (which is the very least it could possibly be, but not many qualify, it's usually just a hook) and had a £150 off voucher.

Bargain really, when a pair of glasses is £100-150 and my contacts were £13 a month. In a few years I'll have broken even. Plus, I can't think of many things I'd rather spend my money on.

    Good for you :)

Oddly, your comment reminds me of the story of the mother of an acquaintance, who, once she got glasses at the age of 35 (and after living in the city for 35 years), for the first time in her life noticed that the tram actually had overhead contact lines.

That's not bad at all. Last I checked, the procedure in the US costs about $2000 - or about £1200 pounds given the current exchange rate, of which my insurance would only pay $500.

How did she think it was powered? gasoline? batteries?

Did you get a braille display too Barmy? Or did you hire someone to describe what they see?
