    Anyone got any suggestions how to get rid of lagging on my pc? I just bought neverwinter nights after being apart form it for ages and now my pc has decided to lag like mad!! infuriating

    Online only - Talk to ISP.

    Offline/Online - Uninstall, scandisk, defrag, reinstall NWN.

    I find there are plenty of things that cause NWN to stutter on my pc but they go away again before I get a chance to investigate them.

    A list of things to consider:
    • Check the PC for adware/malware.
    • Defrag the hard disk.
    • Prevent the antivirus from performing a system check in the background.
    • See if you have an ungodly number of background programs running at the same time, especially download managers.
    • Unless you have a very decent graphics card, reduce the detail in NWN to 32 or 16-bit, if you are using 64-bit textures.
    • Same for the sound card. Try not selecting EAX sound and/or hardware acceleration.
    • Update both cards' drivers.
