Took me 2 minutes to make, but I figure some might like. Full-size, 3840x2880 view of Kuldahar. Has anyone ever done this before, btw? Creating that for every single area would just be a matter of patience but it's not technically difficult.

It's nice. Used something like this as a background way back!
Probably the nicest place in the setting!

Dr_Asik, you can extract all the area maps directly from the game files with any of the IE editors like NearInfinity or Infinity Explorer... I always thought I'd do it some day but never got around to it. There are so many beautiful areas in IWD...

    Speaking of pretty places.
The interior of the Hand, and the Dwarven Forge were the best.
And generally IWD had the better art of all the Infinity-Engine games!

Oh damn. Thanks for the tip

... Still, to my credit, the screenshot is in-game, so it shows animations, closed doors, and probably other stuff that you don't see in infinity explorer. :p

I agree, it's a pity new monitors don't come in the 4:3 format anymore, all those old pics get stretched, if you want them full-screen.

I completely agree -- the other games might have better stories (though IWD's story is definitely above avarage, and often underrated IMO) and the BG series might have a much larger scope, but I love the art in Icewind Dale... Such gorgeous locations :)

Call me dumb, but where is the picture located? I can't spot any way to access it from this thread.
