I'm playing through TuTu again and decided to take Kiva along. Thing is, in the past he always left because I took too mach time with his hunt for Tazok.

Do you have to go to the bandit camp and face Tazok in order for Kivan to quit his complaining and stay permanently? Or is going to the camp enough?

Going to the camp is enough. I never had him leave me, and I never face Tazok at the camp...

It depends on what you have installed. I am trying to untangle that right now, for BG1 NPC -- currently, if you have BG1 NPC Project v12 Beta (any version) installed on either Tutu or BGT, the timers are removed/falsed out, so you never get the final talk where he leaves forever. On vanilla Tutu, the timer is only a few days; on BGT BG1 NPC Project v11, it is 12 days (game time). In the vanilla game, I *think* the AreaCheck is what escapes the timer, so just visiting the area is enough, but supposedly the game is set up so you have to actually complete the battle with Tazok's followers and enter the tent. If you post over at G3 in the BG1 NPC threads (regardless of whether or not it The Project is installed - say I sent you), I can take a look through the files when I get home from work and give you a CLUAConsole setting for Kivan's timer that should make it moot (you can probably set the timer to expire after ONE_YEAR or 666666666 or something, but I will have to research).

When you post, though, please indicate Tutu v4, EasyTutu, and whether or not BG1 NPC is installed. That way we can come up with the right answer for your platform.

/Edit:sorry, simultaneous post: Or, if Shaitan plays vanilla, you can ignore the whole thing, 'cause that would mean that the vanilla game effectively disables the behavior on the Bandit Camp AraeCheck, and you are good to go :)

Well I have the BG1 NPC project installed (including the update to v12). So I guess I'm allright. I haven't had any problems with this save (just picked Kivan up).

    Thanks a bunch anyway.
