    I just had a thought that tRump's policies using ICE to terrorize Hispanic communities reminds me of what the KKK used to do to blacks.
    The fact that ICE isn't just going after illegals, but U.S. citizens for walking down the street while Hispanic, and kicking out legal immigrants for not having papers that can be easily stolen on their person at all times means it's more about terror than law enforcement.

    Is tRump trying to get Hispanics treated the way blacks were 100 years ago in order to have acceptable targets since it is no longer "in vogue" to discriminate against Muslims?

    Is Trump a racist? Absolutely. But I suspect there's some pragmatism too. He needs his far-right bible thumping law and order voting bloc to stay on his side. So indulging in racism with just the right odd case like this one surely helps a lot too:

    There isn't much I can do, I didn't vote for him either time, and my entire State went overwhelmingly Democrat.
    Actually IIRC Illinois has voted Democrat every time since Bush's first term. The only times they went Republican in my lifetime were for Reagan (don't recall his first term, I was a baby), and both Bush's first election, but went Democrat when Bush was up for reelection. Every other election the State went with the Democrat.

    So tRump didn't get my vote nor my State's electoral votes at any time.

    That my state voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz is not something I would be happy about. Well, in fact, I am not happy about it since California did the same :)

    I don't think Trump cares enough to be intentionally racist. He just does what he thinks is best for his self-image, at least in the eyes of his supporters. I also don't think he's physically capable of doing another term. Lately, he looks like he's about to drop dead at any minute. :lol:
