Just curious. Does any Icewind Dale versions support coop multiplayer that plays along the same/similar story/quests as singleplayer? If so, which version or expansions?

Both, it's the same game single/multi, limit is 6 characters I think they can be controlled by 6 different people by TCP/IP
you must leave locations at the same time, when you talk dialog screen is visible for all the party members.

It's a pain to play with like 3+ people without mic, get skype/vent/treamspeak/mumble
then it's way easier to cooperate with players when shopping and fighting (when battle
starts it's good to know if everyone is ready; when i played without voice comm, we typed in 'r' when ready but it's bothersome really.

Overall there's not that much talking as in BGs so even if you have hack&slash orientated friends they shouldn't get bored too fast. It's most boring for single class fighters as they are usually those who wait in battle etc, so it's better if everyone has some magic mix so that way you all spend similar amount of time preping inv before the battle.

Yes, I've played Baldur's Gate with 2 other people, each controlling 2 characters. Got to level 3 or something. Not very practical.
