Click the button (it should have an orange highlight when clicked) now wait a few seconds around the area where you suspect a trap may be. Then a red outline of the trap will appear. Now click on the disarm trap/thief skill and click once over the trap. Trap disarmed!

    Two things:
1)Disarm the part of the trap nearest you, don't walk over half the trap to disarm the other side :p
2)In options you can change it so that the game autopauses when a trap is found, so that you get a chance to get things straight and not have one of your characters set off the trap.
    Enjoy!

Another Dane. The boards is flowing thick with danes. :D

Another thing is that the more you have ind find/detect traps, the faster you notice them. Can be a life saver.

  4. Nobody reads manuals anymore, maybe thats why my parents VCR still blinks 12:00.

  5. What?! Maybe I'm just too young to understand ;) Anyways, in average, Coran is a good thief. And if you disarm trap, and it fails, do it again, and again. After 3 times of failing, you won't be able to have success.

I had problems with Corans trap detecting ability pretty much to his highest level atainable. He really just wasn't very good at it. One option is to have your cleric find the traps with the spell detect traps, then have him go back and try to disarm them. Doing it this way will at least save his life at the least, but it still doesn't help with disarming them some of the time. There is a portion in the game, possibly the potion of perception, that helps with disarming traps. I think it boosts your ability by about 20%. These proved invaluable, and I highly recommend them.

Hidden Library? You mean under Candlekeep (or is that Chapter 6?)

Anyway, if it IS Candlekeep dungeon, keep this in mind: you need 100% find traps ability, otherwise you won't be able to spot/disarm the traps. So, what I did was have Jaheira walk ahead with the Find Traps spell cast. When I came upon a spell, I brought my characters around the trap one by one (you can slip by all of them if you hug the wall). It took a while, but the **SPOILER** Books of Strength/Wisdom are worth it. :)
