I finished the game and thought I'd put down a few of my experiences that made it easier to finish the single player campaign.

Buy the Greater Swordsman Belt.(I wish I had. Immune to the first 20 points of damage from each dragon claw hit is awesome.)Buy it when its available because it's only sold in one spot.I believe the dwarf thats in the same room with another merchant sells it in Chap 2. Nobody else sells it later on.

When fighting the 2 dragons late in the game, you should move between the door down to the next level and the rock formation. I was only attacked by 1 dragon at a time when I put myself there.

If you are going to solo NWN then you will need to string enemies out. Kill them one at a time. Pull out a bow or similar long range item and shoot melee enemies to get them to charge you. Most ranged or spell casting units won't follow as much(if at all) when you run away. Move away as long as they follow you until you can take them on away from their cohorts. You can peck them to death this way.

If you're a fighter get the feat Critical Hit as soon as possible. Use it on a weapon that has multiple possible crit hits. Long sword is a good choice since its crit hit starts at 19-20 and after the feat you get crits fromm 17-20. Thats alot.

These are just a few tips to help you along the way. Hope they are worth your time. If not put down some of your own and help the misfortunate.

I'd recommend the scimitar over the longsword. Standard crit is 18-20 x2, so with the critical strike feat, it's 16-20.

Also, as a caster, get combat casting. Not getting that early was the stupidest thing I did in that game. It'll really help once you get into Chapter Two and later.

Another good one for a fighter is knockdown. This makes beating up mages almost ridiculously easy. If you're a caster, a darkness spell works wonders against mages too.

I have a pure melee char - human pally 11 or 12, fighter 4, cleric 2- no frills, just a bastard sword and the best shield and set of armor available :D
I'm in chapter 3 and I'm actually doing the ancient creator dungeon, beeing around lvl-17 or 18. Greater gauntlets of ogre power and the girdle of firegiant strength set my pallys str to 22.
Thanks to the firedragon scales, shield of the dragonslayer, boots of speed, cloak of fortification +3, ring of protection +5, amulet of natural armor +3 he has an AC of 42. For the higher enemies that means a risk since they then move in the critical range, so when they hit they hit hard. Considering my Pallys attack bonus that also means that an enemy of the same level can at max place one hit per round, lower level enemies do not hit at all.

Hasted and with that AC and dodge and mobility he can just walk through a group of enemies with ease, getting barely a scratch while cleaving the spellcasters away. Unfortunately Tomi's survivability by no means comes close to that :(

I also use that orange ring that give regeneration (plan to buy the greater version if it) and the ring of fortitude +3 at need. Delver's armor is great due to the st-bonus. I have a good set of various magical items, weapons and armor in my bags of holding enabling me to dress properly for most enemies - and with me taking screenshots all the time my pally is on the catwalk all day anyway :D

He has 4 attacks per round. Feats: dodge, mobility, power attack, cleave, focus: b'sword, specialisation: b'sword, impr crit: b'sword and a few more - iirc lightning reflexes and iron will since my char was weak there. Only enemy able to really harm him sofar was Klauth but long live the dragon slippers and the ring of elemental protection :D

ya those 2 dragons late in the game can be seperated i had to do that with my Ranger cause it's one thing to take on 1 dragon it's another to take on 2 at once with a melee char :p
however with my necromancer i didn't need to seperate them i just destroyed them :D dragons are no match for a lev 20 wizard :)
