I signed up for help with this. I'm stumped!

I just installed Icewind Dale from the 3-in-1 boxset. Once complete, I installed all patches from this site - the Icewind Dale patch, the Heart Of Winter patch, AND the UK-only patch, only because I bought this via eBay from a guy in England, so I thought it may be applicable.

Here is a screenshot of the initial menu upon booting up the game:

I can click on "Create Game" in the real menu towards the right (NOT where my mouse pointer is hovering over) since the button is half-exposed, but when I do that, the game crashes right back to Windows. I can't do anything else.

Can anyone offer any assistance? I didn't do anything out of the ordinary.

I don't know if it helps, but I also have Icewind Dale II installed, which I intend to play once I complete Icewind Dale.

I'd LOVE to start playing this during this Memorial Day vacation I have, so if anyone has any insight at all, please... I'm all ears! Thank you. :)

OK, you've probably messed it up with the patches. It's very likely that the version you have is already patched. Check the manual or the readmes, it should mention whether that's true or not. Even if it wasn't patched, the install order is IWD, HoW, HoW patch (and Trials of the Luremaster). You could probably omit the HoW patch, but it doesn't hurt to install it. The version you have definitely doesn't need the UK-only patch.

Thank you VERY much. In the middle of uninstalling / reinstalling right now. If I don't respond back, then everything is working properly. Either way, thank you for the input!
