    Hi,

I've got a (big) problem: Since this morning, I have not been able to open neither old nor newly created MS Office files - I get a message saying the file is inaccessible. I have Vista, and use MS Office 2007, which I've tried reinstalling but the problem still occurs.

Everything was working fine yesterday, but the last thing I did before shutting down the computer was to download and install an update for AVG Antivirus, that required a reboot. Now I can't seem to open AVG any more.

Any idea of how to solve this?

    Great thanks in advance

From the sounds of it, the first thing to do is to uninstall AVG and reboot. It sounds like AVG has become corrupted and is blocking access.

    Problem solved

Yes, how incredibly asinine of me. Did so and it seems to have worked. Thanks!

While you're at it, why not simply dump AVG in favor of Avast?

Or get both if you have the RAM and CPU.

:heh: nah, just use the one antivirus - it'l likely lead to conflicts and hog resources if you use two.
