Yeah, the helm isn't actaully on any of the statues. They just lead you through clues in their conversation to another person (check the Undercellar) who can give you a nice item and will also hint at the helm's location. For the actaul helm, just check where Tal pointed. But don't miss out on the person in the Undercellar either.

Well, since you asked for the spoiler, here goes. I vaugly remember the game, so I'll try my best to piece this together form old notes. When you talk to the statues, don't make the only talkative one, Vail, give you the location. Back down, and he tell you to see Quenash in the Undercellar to get something special. I think you can still talk to her even if you made the statue give you the helms location. She is in the room to the bottom left of the center of the area. In that dialog, tell her you saved Vail and that she wouldn't want to betray his wishes or something like that. She then will give you the Cloak Of Balduran, which is very nice, and a note telling you someone planned to hide the helm and cloak of Balduran in a place practically named for it(hint, hint). I think the cloak has 25% magic resistance and +2 AC I believe (don't hold me to those stats). A very nice item.
