    The resolution as stated on the page is 1680 x 1050. 1080p is 1920 x 1080.

    So I would say no.

As for the advice, 1080p is probably not necessary for such a small size display.

I would only recommend 1080p for 42" and larger screen sizes.

That's more a monitor than a TV... it has the standard widescreen monitor resolution, which is a compromise as far as TV content viewing goes (black belts).

Hmm that is something I will have to thing about. Though I'm sure all the other 22" tv's had the same resolution and it's not much more that the 19" (costwise), so I'm guessing a 22" with the screen slightly stretched might look better than just a 19".

1080p is perfect for 40 inch.

I should also mention my main use of the tv will be for ps3 gaming and some blue-ray films.

Then you probably want 1080p, as more and more games are coming out being able to handle 1080p, and all Blu-Rays *should* play in 1080p (if you have the TV). However, I don't think you can even fit 1920 x 1080 onto such a small screen...
