Why would anyone name their town "Guild War?" :hmm:

It isn't a town? Right; then what is it? ;)

Yes, it's free, in alpha testing, which is public during the E3 thingy.

No it's a MMORPG. You can still play the 'unfinished version' for free during the E3. I played it for a while, but it ain't so super-duper-fun like other MMO's I suppose. But I suggest trying nontheless.

Looks interesting. I may get a chance to try it out tonight/tomorrow. I think that a monk/ranger sounds fun. Great support character! :)

From the site, it seems like its just another Dark age of Camelot.

Well, I've tried it out now. I played for about an hour and a half last night, with a break for NWN in the middle. It certainly shows a good amount of promise. Keeping in mind that it is an alpha release, I am quite impressed by what is already available.

I have a quibble with the way that my character is driven, but that may just be me being used to NWN controls. I found that it was very difficult to try any sort of hit and run tactics, since your character always runs in the direction that the camera is facing when using the keyboard controls. I can't easily have him look back over his shoulder and fire arrows every now and then. Yes, you can click on the ground where you want the character to move, but unlike NWN, the map doesn't really tell you clearly where you can and cannot go. There are rises and cliffs that you cannot climb that don't really show on the overhead map.

I was also a little perturbed that my monk/ranger (cleric/archer in DnD terms) could not use a shield. In fact, only warriors can do so.

Still, I like it enough that I will be going back to play some more after work. I've earned a few skill points, but haven't yet gotten enough coin to get trained. ;)
