I use Windows XP, and have a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 graphic card. Didn't have any problems for 3 years. But yesterday, I reinstalled Windows and I'm having some graphic card issues. In particular, it says when the driver's being installed that it doesn't have that digital signature thingy, something it never said before concerning this computer, and when I do get it installed, I have that little ! next to my GC. Says that it can't load the driver. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure, but my guess is that you need to update your OS. IIRC, digital signatures are once again one of those M$'s ways to make your life difficult in the name of anti-piratism. Try downloading the latest service pack and then trying again.

Ignoring the digital signature thingy for drivers never hurts, though in my experience, drivers mostly tend to have not been verified for compatibility with Windows. Perhaps you've installed the latest ForceWare 77.77 from nVidia? There might be some issues with it being so new, but I installed it a couple of days ago without any problems. What sort of drivers was it, anyway?

Indeed, just ignore it. It only means that the driver hasn't been WHQL certified. The latest NVIDIA ForceWare (77.77) drivers are WHQL certified.

I tried everything. I am installing Forceware 77.77and I do have all the latest updates,.I selected 'Ignore' in system properties about WHQL but now it's complaining of some Windows logo testing or something. I hit continue, it installs, I still have that little ! next to my graphic card. Still says something about the driver being damaged or missing(code 39(?)). This is starting to drive me nuts.

ok ... install driver cleaner pro ... do a google search you'll find it ...

    uninstall your drivers

    boot to safe mode

run driver cleaner and clean your old nvidia drivers

reboot ... and install your drivers

but wait ... before you install them ... are you sure your motherboards drivers are up to date?

oh ... and I forgot ... it's set in the registry somewhere to not allow you to change it to ignore even though you can select it ... heh heh ... now my computer whines about non-WHCL drivers  I guess I have to dig through my long list of reg tweaks
