    I'm really not surprised at all about it.
    A week or so ago I read that YouTube wanted to be sold, and many people, including Google people and Mr Gates said that buying YouTube was a crazy idea because is a bomb about to blow; sooner or later lawsuits will rain on them because copyrights and things like that.

    So I knew something was cooking: Google bought YouTube.

    By the way, how many zeros are in 1bn?

    Depends what country you are in. Most English speaking countries have nine zeros in a billion (a thousand million), but I believe most countries use twelve zeros (a million million). I guess that's just us English speaking world liking to be different ;)

    Well, whatever the correct sum is, it's a LOT. Hmmh, makes me wonder, why would Google buy a site that's going to face a legion of lawsuits from about all movie companies...
    Or will it? I think it is illegal, but are they really breaking any laws by posting footage from movies, seeing it's non-profit?

    I wish I had invented YouTube....... I'd donate a few more bucks to SP if I sold a company for a billion dollars (more or less, depending on how many zeroes were in it).

    Yes. I thought that was fairly common knowledge :confused:

    Check wikipedia and Ask Oxford, or even Dictionary.com. Sure, not the most reliable sources around, but they work.
