Why is it that when I post on this site from work, I have no issues, but can't get on forum sites like G3's, PPs or Spellhold Studios? They are blocked with a "Games" label, but no SP. I was able to get into all of them a few months ago, but now only SP is getting thru. I realize it has to do with the companies blockage, so I'm wondering what type of site is SP then?

And yes, when it comes to stuff like this, I'm a noob.

It's actually your company that blocks the sites. It makes up the "types". It depends on what kind of software is on your company servers and routers for blocking websites. For example, at my work I just get a general "blocked" message. I actually can't get to SP from work.

Actually, here's something pretty funny about my company's website blocking. I can't get to a local news site from work. It blocks the top half of the website. It has something to do with the ADS on the site. It's actually blocking the ad and so the top half of the website is blocked but you can scroll down and see the bottom half.

    Obvioulsy, it's BoV's newly chosen name. :p

There must be something different in SP's metadata that doen't flag it as a "waste of an employee's time." Perhaps it flags as a news site first. :hmm: What ever is going on, don't change anything! I like being able to get SP at work. :D

Of course there's something different! After all SP is NOT a waste of employee time! In fact I've been negotating with my university to have it added as an academic source. I pointed them to some of the fascinating threads in the Alleys about carbon nanotubes, alternatives theories for Venusian temperatures and other scientific essays we have hosted on here. And they're all peer-reviewed too! :D
