[IMG] Just wondering if anyone knows how to transfer saved games from one system to another? I tried copying my 'Save' folder to my Torment directory on my new system, but it didn't seem to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Just copy separate save games into the Save folder on the new system...
And if you burned them to a CD and copied them off it, make sure you reset the file attributes for the saves so that they don't say read-only.

Hmmm, doesn't seem to work. The save game shows up, but the system just locks when I try to access the file. The read only attribute has been changed but to no avail. The other strange thing is that when I reboot my new system, Planescape fails to run at all after trying to access one of my save transfers, then I have to re-install. I wouldn't think the 1.11 patch would have anything to do with it, both my old system and new are running the patch.

Just a small thought, did the old save games include any extras that you haven't installed on the new machine - Mort easter egg, Annah Leprechaun, sound sets, etc. It shouldn't make a difference but then, your game should transfer.....

Also have you tried saving and loading a new game since the new install. By doing that, at least you'll know the problem is with the old save game file and not some kind of set up problem with the new PC.

I wasn't quite sure what you said about the patch but it can't hurt to have the same version of the new game as per the old save games.

Finally, are you sure the old save game file copies are not corrupted. Have you still got your old system, you could try loading them into that (back up your original old save game files - if you know what I mean first).

Finally, (long shot) you could download one of the save game editors from here to see if that can open the files then resave them from there - who knows what will keep the strange beast that is a modern PC happy.

Finally, if you tried all these, you could email me a copy of ONE of the save game files and I'll see if my system will load them (this is becoming a habit). Again, at least it might help to determine where the fault is.

PS where had you got to in the game? I have several PT save files and might have one that is similar to where you were. You could use an editor to put the Stats back to what ever you were using.

    Good luck.
