[IMG] Today I have made a new char - just to toy around and to bring it to level 3 to see what might be wothwhile or not. I started with a female half-orc rogue and ended up with a 1 lvl rogue and 2 lvl barbarian. Of course I chose voice "bruthish thug" and an adequate portrait, and heavy apperance. I was rotflmao when I played her through the prelude .... "I smack you down!" - with a greatsword (the weapon she focused on).

Except for the fun part there were of course practical considerations - like fast movement, martial weapon proficiencies, hitpoints and rage ... very powerful char - and I think the prospects on power attack, cleave, impr. crit in combination with sneak attack are impressive. Promises to become a very flexible and powerful char :)

Any other fun combos you have made and played?

[IMG] Ranger/Rogue/fighter is a particluarly deadly combo :)
take 2 levels of fighter (i did this class last) for the weopon specializations (i took longsword and rapier)
take 3 levels of Rogue (added the rogue levels after about lev 11 ranger) for their find traps
and the rest Ranger(started ranger 1-11 then finished ranger 16+) for all there bonuses :D
my Ranger was duel wielding longswords with like a +20 bonus on both hands and just mowed down everthing!

With a greatsword, blond hair and a panther familar he looks just like He-man...

Haven´t found Skelletor yet but I an sure some Demilich will do the trick nicely..

Lvl 1 Ranger/ Lvl 1 Fighter and Lvl as high as possible roque is great... wear Light Armor and you can dual wield a Long Sword or even Katana and a Short Sword in the off hand, of course yuo are specialised in both weapons with the addition feats you got for the fighter-lvl.

I have compared a 1-rogue/ 2-fighter halfling and a 1-rogue/ 1-ranger/1-fighter hafling with the same stats and I came to the surprising result that it doesn't really makes a difference what you choose :)

The RFR was better, very slightly better - his only advantages beeing a +1 in his fortitude saving throw, racial enemy, trackless step and 2 or 3 more skillpoints. Additionally some of his skills can be used to synergetically improve thief skills, set trap for example.

The RF2 on the other hand is more flexible - he can use his weapons even with medium armor, so you can use a wider range of armor. The fighter skills add abilities a rogue doesn't has, namely discipline.

Minor differences :) Actually that more and more convinces me that multiclassing with more than 2 classes is questionable and that you set the way your char fights in the first three levels in the prelude :)

Are any of you running into the experience penalty issues with multiclassing?

I currently have a human paladin/cleric @ 3/3 and was thinking of taking a lvl in ranger or something, but don't want to loose any precious EXP points.

On the funny side, I was thinking of making a barbarian / sorcerer and role playing him as a split personality type.

I also experimented with a Ranger / Druid, which played really good, but when he started handing out Greenpeace flyers to the escaped convicts, I had to restart the game ;) :thumb: :good:

[IMG] For multi-ing, I quite like my Ranger/Rogue. Sure he has some conflicting stats, but I don't really care about animal empathy or ranger spells. It works very well with plenty of stealth, huge sneak attacks :D while dual-wielding, and the ability to use a ton of magic with the rogue skills.

I was thinking about doing a hafling fighter/ranger/rogue, but I'm not sure. I'm doing hafling to see if it's worth my time...Since they can't use large weapons, have a penalty to str, I thought of taking str to 13(for Power attack, cleave), dex to 15 or so(AC bonus, rogue skills, and Weap. finense) and Duel-wielding short swords, and doing Ranger 9,fighter 8, and rogue 3 but I'm not sure.... what do you guys think?

[IMG] I have thought about making a Rouge/Cleric/Paladin. Starting as an hard pirat, being confronted with faith and lastly turning to the force of good in general. The obvious problem is the fact that Paladins must be Lawfull, perhaps he can change to Lawfull after some Lawfull deeds.
I have had the idea for a pnp character and it would be fun to try him out i NWN...
Tha questions is at wich levels I should add classes...

Timelord ... on the alignment change, so far I've been able to move my alignment on the "good" side, but not on the "lawful" side. (My alignment is now 100% good, 85% lawful)

I guess you could start with a lawful neutral rouge (who steals from the rich to evenly distribute wealth maybe) who slowly understands the essence of faith and slowly becomes more good.

[IMG] Can rogues be lawful at all? I mean, you are a thief after all...Or could you be lawful neutral? Like, "I follow the laws I feel like following!"

I'm not sure they can...But I do like the fact that my paladin can bash chests that don;t belong to him, with no effect on alignment...I guess "finders keepers, losers weepers" is the rule of LAW! ;)

Bel, you can actually start with a Lawful Good rouge ... funny stuff.

I kind of feel guilty, walking into people's homes, raiding their desks and armoirs ... doesn't feel very paladiny, but you never know, one of those nobles could have a cure tucked away behind those potions of cure critical wounds ... ;) :good:

[IMG] Yeah, last night I tried to create a Lawful Good rogue and found that there is no restrictions for rogue alignments. I guess a rogue could be lawful, concentrating on skills such as disarm trap, opening only the locks of dungeon treasure chests, hide, move silently etc. Only thing is no pickpocketing. :D

I was toying with the idea of creating a Lawful Good rogue for the prologue and upon reaching Chapter 1, he is so enamoured of Aribeth that he changes his profession to a Paladin and takes the noble path (to try and win the heart of his love ;) ). Of course, his rogue skills still come in handy from time to time. I am unsure how the sneak attacks would fit into his Paladin profile, though.
