    Hi, is this a bug:
when using a dagger my rogue gets both a +4 finesse bonus and a -1 str bonus, I thought finesse meant you used dex -instead of- str, not on top of?
or are +'s and -'s supposed to be handled differently?

Not sure exactly what's going on (I'm not a stats/rules guru), but it's very likely not a bug. ToEE's combat mechanics are very detailed, and there are actually very few bugs having to do with combat. Many bugs elsehwere, but combat is pretty well-refined.
