    1. You don't have to feed them.
    2. Their hitpoint double and I think they gain some additional abilities

    Edit: yay! new gem :D

    2. The book that came with ToB has complete stats for the upgraded familiars. Checking that might help (mine's at home, otherwise I'd look it up for ya.)

Usually I don't even bother with the little buggers. Mine have a habit of being killed by area affect spells directed at me and the loss of a constitution point ticks me off. If I summon one I shove him in my pack and keep him there and enjoy my sweet sweet extra hp :)

IIRC, your familiar doesn't improve just because you've transitioned from SoA to ToB. It's just that if you have ToB installed, even if you're just starting SoA, you're going to get a better familiar than you would if you only had SoA installed without ToB.

@Buck Naked: WRONG! YOur familiars will get stronger after beating Irenicus if you have ToB installed.

Taza, correct, although I do seem to recall my mage's hitpoints not increasing at all after beating Slayer.

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly -- as in, "I MAY BE WRONG"

    :D
