[IMG] In the manual it mentions something about getting additional memories from dying in certain situations/circumstances. Has this ever happened to anyone, or is it just one of those things that *groan* "Didn't make it into the finished version"?

You're right, you get nothing, kick the manual. Unless...

There is a certain episode with githyanki (IIRC in Lower Ward). If Dak'kon is nearby when you talk to one of those, it turns into fight. But if you move Dak'kon away, you actually can follow this githyanki and let him kill you in order to learn something worthy (if you do that, go talk to gitzherai person in the same area). ;)

Another "trick" where your immortality can be valuable is Ravel's maze. You haven't managed to unlock the portal to secret area there? No problem! Just order your guys to kill you and you'll be instantly transported there. ;)

[IMG] Yeah, but this is irritating! Sorry, I'm talking about Ravel's maze. If they kill you or when you get killed BEFORE you killed Ravel, you mis an importand part of the story line! So I think it's a bug... Not a trick.

SleepleSS, in that case, couldn't you just walk out of the secret area and talk to Ravel, or does it cause a problem with the game?

[IMG] Oops I guess I made a mistake here...

I Ment the secret exit of the maze, the one that brings you to that city. If you get killed during your fight whit ravel, you "wake up" there, and miss the movie that should come after the fight.

You were talking about another secret thingie in Ravels maze?

In Ravel's maze, there is a secret area where you can get items that cast spells. You need her hair to enter it, but she'll give you that during the talk. Also, while you talk to her, you can get some black-barbed seeds and necklaces that you can get upgraded in this secret area.

That's not supposed to happen, SleepleSS. You're the first person I've ever heard of it happening to.

[IMG] So, if Ravel killes you during the fight, you are not suposed to end up in that city? Strange... It happens to me all the time...

Right, you are supposed to end up in the secret area mentioned in Rastor's post.

    [IMG] Weird!

I shall replay that part tomorow, to see what happens. If I go to the city, Can I than sent you guys a safegame, to see what it does at your place?

EDIT: So I did play the part again, and this time, I did go to that secret area! I don't know why it didn't work the first 2 times.. Anyway, I had never been there. But you said you could get some cool items in that secret place... There was absolutly nothing there :( .

You have to get certain items from Ravel before you can get the secret items in that place. You must also get her to teach you some of the art.

Back to the dying subject, does dying a lot slow the game down? Do far, I've been playing it cautiously (I've just begun, I'm still in the Hive)

I think I'm going to like this game, but I am SO confused...

It doesn't make any difference if you die or not. The only bother is escaping the Mortuary every time you do if you're in Sigil.

Actually, if yo're in the Catacombs, or Buried City, then you wake up in Martha (a blind collector's house)...just thought i'd share that.
Sometimes you wake up at the entrance of a dungeon.
