In 1961, December 4th the NHS started providing the contraceptive pill to women for free.

Feminists cite it as a great accomplishment due to the freedom it gives a woman to decide how her womanhood functions.

Yet there is a new agey movement saying the pill is a terrible thing as it allows women to skip their special 'moon time' which is a sacred time for women for every month of their lives from 'maiden to crone'

    I'm sorry...

But in the 'times of yore' that most of these women are citing as times where every twenty eight days a physical feat occurs in every woman to timed precision a miracle of womanhood (more commonly known as a ****ing nuisance) then not only is that not biologically true (while a majority of cycles are 28 days in length - it is by no means a measurement across the board, especially as this 'miracle' can last between two days and twelve and dear god do I pity the women on the twelve end of the spectrum...)

Women in 'times of yore' spent most of their time with a bun in the oven or nursing. A medical survey across women who had never undergone pregnancy (real or artificial) were at higher risk of specific cancers and also had a LOT more hormonal imbalances whilst women how had frequent pregnancies or were placed on a pill replicating the starting stages of pregnancy had far fewer hormonal imbalances and also were probably a lot happier as they were having sex. Which pretty much ends most arguments.
