Edwin unused sounds?

    Once again I was perusing the game files with Near Infinity (a fun way to pass time :D), when I realized Edwin has several sounds after 41 which are not referenced by any other game files.

    EDWIN42.WAV: "Oooh, I'm not much help for you. I'll just sit with me pretties and... watch them sparkle, hehe!"
    EDWIN43.WAV: "GWAAAAAH! HEEEELP!" (yes, that annoying generic one)
    EDWIN45.WAV: "I sad but... sparkle makes for happy, hehe!"
    EDWIN46.WAV: "I not like sad talk. I go sit with me pretties."
    EDWIN47.WAV: "I once had shinies piled up to the sky. I don't remember where they are though."
    EDWIN48.WAV: "You find me friends, ok?"

    Looks like there was some material planned with Edwin going mad, that never made it for the release. Anyone knows more?

    I think the second last one is used in the Asylum. One of the inmates says it, I think. Or maybe it was Xzar in BG1...Don`t recall...

    Yes, he says similar things to the Asylum inmate Naljier Skal in BG2, but it's not the same files and it's clearly not the same actor. Those edwin sound files are voiced with Edwin's voice specifically.

    Edwin's voice actor is Jim Meskimen. From all his accomplishments, he's a very talented guy. He also did the voice of Khalid.
    It's possible they planned another substory of Edwin, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss that these files were voiced by the same voice actor.

    [​IMG] Sounds like you've got an issue with your install.

    I've just listened to EDWIN42-48 and they are sounds from dialogues with other party members.
