[IMG] Has anyone tried this? If so, do you get all the fun benefits of the multiclass equivalent (ie all the cleric and druid spells) or do you only get the druid spells appropriate to the ranger levels?

Yes and yes (clerc and druid spells).

But if you dual, you will lose out on the ranger HLA's (unless you dual at level 18 or higher).

In TOB, multi is usually better, and this is no exception.

Yeah, I prefer multi most of the time. I can't really see how dualling from ranger to cleric would benefit. I was just curious is all.

the benefit is that you would advance as a Cleric without having to divide your XP between Fighter and Cleric.

Well yes, i know that. What i meant was that especially with Throne of Bhaal, there seems little point dualling from Ranger to Cleric as the Cleric will effectively max out a bit into the expansion and a multi equivalent would bring useful extra melee skill to the character. Mind you, the kits could provide some fun, especially stalker/cleric (a more combat orientated version of the Cleric/Thief) or archer/cleric (Awesome non-melee spellcaster/sling cleric).

Yeah, i like the multiclass one. I tried a stalker and archer dualled to a cleric the other night and it didnt work for some reason. I see this was mentioned in another thread as well. Bah; that stalker/cleric would have ruled.

Hm, anyone tried a dual beastmaster/cleric? The BM has a really bad weapon selection for dual-wild (heck, is there any 1-hand weapon save a club for him?) but has some interesting skills to compensate. The cleric weapon selection actually doesn't mess you up much since you can't us swords and axes anyway. Summons 3 is usually not too wimpy, and I like being able to have familiars. Well, they are often little more than HP bonus with a few free spells, but still... A fairy dragon's invisibility 10' can be quite useful.
