[IMG] All my Icewind Dale parties have always had a bard. There are so many places where having a bard in the party initiating dialogue will improve dialogue options and lead to more xp. Two examples: take Easthaven where you get xp for singing right back to Elisia (the sirene, sp?), and then asking her to teach you her song; or take the Whistling Gallows in HoW where you can persuade Murdaugh to tell you his tale leading to the quest for the ice rose. When you get this later from Tiernon in Gloomfrost you return with it to Murdaugh for a massive (680,000) amount of xp. Bards rule. :p
By the way, I always equip him/her with a crossbow.

I think that druids have better spells than clerics .
    Haven't tested bards yet, because i disliked bards in BG1 + BG2.
