Does Wisdom Affect Saving Throws or Not?

Discussion in 'BG2: Shadows of Amn (Classic)' started by Lord Sarevok, Jan 31, 2002.

[IMG] Someone said earlier that they don't give bonuses and negatives to saving throws for higher wisdom. I know this was not implemented in the first BG2, but I'm positive that it does in this game. I always thought that bonus(or negative) was added *after* you rolled, so two characters of the same class, level, and race would have identical saving throws, but the one with the high wisdom would get up to a +4 bonus depending on how high his wisdom was, and the other one could have penalties up to -3...

I've also heard that constitution and race also effect this, but right now I'm only concerned about wisdom.

the only way to find out is to create two identical characters, but one with low wisdom and another with 18, and have a look at those saving throws.

Hmm, it wouldn't be on the character information chart, because like I said, I'm fairly certain the bonus is added after you roll. So is there anything I can change in the feedback to view this? Actually, I was hoping one of you would know because I'm a lazy bastard :).

[IMG] Why do people simply refuse to believe this was never implemented? Are you embarrased because you've been rolling for days in order to give your fighter 18 in WIS?

Ask yourself this question: why would Bioware, in their infinite wisdom (haha! pun intended), implement the race and CON saving throw modifiers via easy-to-read plain-text .2DA files and then mysteriously go and bury hardcoded into the engine the WIS saving throw modifier?

Doesn't make sense, and why?... BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER IMPLEMENTED!

[IMG] Until I get over with my sys-administration business over Croatia and put my claws on that game, I won't be able to answer this one. OK?
I know for the question, I promise to check it and post it in ORIGINAL thread, not open billions of them over the same question.
