[IMG] I was wondering if I gain a feat (in particular Spell Penetration) twice, once through my own character leveling and once through a piece of equipment, do they stack? I didn't think they would, but in my character screen the feat actually shows up twice.

Also, for the wizards out there, which spell-enhancing metamagic feats did you choose? So far (lvl 14) I have only found Maximize Spell and Empower Spell to be useful.

    Thanks!

    Depends on the spell.
Spells that buff you and have short durations benefit greatly from Extend Spell.

No feat stacks upon itself... those that you can take multiple times affect different things (Spell Focus for each different school, Weapon Focus for each different weapon, etc)

    Thanks for the answer!

I find that the buff spells either last for a very long time (eg. hour / level) or a very short time (eg. round / level). For the former, I usually have to rest before they wear out anyway, so there is no point of extending them. The later buffs are usually powerful buffs such as Haste, which I find only necessary for boss battles. And for those, the buffs usually last long enough for the duration of the battle that they do not need to be extended. What are the buffs that you find most useful extended?

As for feat stacking, I don't mean the ones that you can take multiple times (eg. Spell Focus, Weapon Focus), but rather the ones that you can take only once (in particular Spell Penetration). I took Spell Penetration and wears an amulet with Spell Penetration, and the feat shows up twice in the Feats section of my character screen. But I guess the effect of the feat is still only applied once?

I don't extend buffs, but I will extend spells like hold and charm. Even then, you don't really need the extention. I don't recommend getting that feat unless it's the only one you can use or you really like the idea.
