Finished IWD-HoW-TotL. I played with 3 characters, two multi class and a dual-class fighter/thief. Had to use the knock spell an awful lot til I got my thieving skils back. Still, when I got them back it was awesome! The story of IWD is ok, espesilly if you read the books (IWD Trilogy by Salvatore, feat. Drizzt). HoW is also ok, but Totl didn't really do it for me. I mean, the best thing about the game was it cool atmosphere, and that's gone in TotL. All 3 final fights a bit to easy, also Yxunomei? I think so. One other thing. Abi-Dhalzim's Horrid Wilting can damage your party, unlike BG2. Thakes the joy ou of the best spell in the game. Still, a great game!!

Haven't played TotL, but the other two I enjoyed very much. Allthough I had a six character party, the final battle in HoW wasn't that easy. Though with the right combination of spells (as always ;)), victory was far from impossible. The ending battle in IWD wasn't difficult at all as soon as you learn where the traps are.

I think it is the way you set up your party which will decide what's easy and what's difficult. If you're not changing the difficulty in the config that is ;).

I skimmed through the first IwD book; didn't like it at all.

But the game rulez! HoW and TotL aren't any big deal (the 800x600 is very nice, though), but the whole elf-dwarf-orc army thing is some good book material.

That and the killsword. Everything relates back to the killsword...

I thought the final battle in HoW was easier than Beliphet.

All I did with the Ice Dragon was cast Lower Resistance and then pummeled the Dragon into oblivion. I could even use Mordenkainen's Force Missiles which the Dragon had no resistance.

Then, it was a case of trampelling over the Sahuagin to get to the Soul Gem and finish it off.

Saving throws for my characters were too good for any spell from the Soul Gem to have an effect on me.

The only part where my feathers got ruffled up a bit was the burial isle (wailing virgins etc) but it wasn't too bad.

Actually I found the game to be a breeze with a solo f/m/t, since it is only one char you have to look after and he's nigh invincible with all the protection spells.
