    I read the forge book that the dwarf gave me in the shining blades and i saw that a lot of things needed to be forged with diamonds. I have yet to find one thus far. Can anyone tell me a for sure place to get one.

    I found two only the whole time I've played. One in the prelude that I foolishly sold to the armorer there. Luckily I found another one in Chapter 1, but I don't remember where. It was near the end, so it was probably somwhere in the Docks or Blacklake.

    I found another one in chapter 3, but I can't remember where. I'm sure that helps you. :) Anyway, I completed the campaign (though I didn't explore every nook and cranny) and only found 2, one each in chapters 1 and 3. If there was one in the prelude I either missed it or sold it without realizing its significance.

    I found i think about 10 diamonds in the game
    mostly in chap 3
    they are random finds so you never know where you might find them.
    although i found 3 in the ruins in chap 3 so it may be a good place to find them :)

    could be that there are some set so that they always appear. but you can find them random too.

    I haven't found a single diamond yet and I opened every single container in the game up till now. (Got the Yuan-ti and Brain Puppy.)

    I found one! I completed the Art quest for Ophala at the Moonstone Mask and after I got my 400 gold reward I persuaded for more and I succeeded so she gave me a diamond.

    It was in that small room next to the pirate leader's girlfriend, in a trapped chest. Don't know if this is random or not, though...
