[IMG] ...last night at age 77.

The guy who got me into fantasy with only two words, "Mister Wolf", gone.
    RIP.

He was the guy that got me totally hooked on fantasy, for a thirteen year old boy his work was the most amazing thing ever. I must have read the Belgariad and Mallorean over ten times. Sadly his work did not stand up so well to an adult but to the thirteen year old inside me he was a god.

Hehe. You echoed my thoughts pretty well joacqin, though I didn't read them that many times... maybe two or three :)

I really enjoyed his characters and dialogue in the Belgariad. It sort of went downhill after that as every one of his characters were just versions of the others. Still, he was a fun read when I found his books years ago.

    RIP.

He did a solid job and wrote some solid stories. What a pity he's gone. RIP.

I liked his characters as well; they were well rendered, with depth. I thought he was also a good story teller. He will be missed. RIP, Mr. Eddings.

It's always sad when one of the people that got us into reading passes away.

Death is but a dream, he'll be a part of many people's lives the same way as he was before, through his work. What has changed? He will write no more, but he will still be an inspiration for many.

I read Tolkien first, Eddings was the second. These two opened the gates to fantastic worlds for me. For this I'll ever be grateful to them.

    Eddings - Dreamers Series

[IMG] Anyone read his Dreamers series? I have the The Elder Gods lying around, just wondering if it's worth purchasing some used copies of the rest of the series.
