I'm looking into a new mouse, Ive had this one for 9 years and its getting problematic.

    does anyone have a rat9?

This is the one I'm looking at, reviews and tech specs are good but they don't compare with a real users opinion.

No, I use a Steelseries Xai. You can't go wrong with Steelseries.

I think that mouse might be a bit more complicated than my previous car... :shake:

Sensor is good (same as in Steelseries Xai or Logitech G9X, the latter is what I have). Dunno about the shape or quality of execution. Some people love it, some hate it. I've heard from at least one person having some problem with parts not matching ideally, so I guess execution isn't always flawless. Adaptability is probably quite good, as a lot can be done to adjust the shape to your hand.

I got myself an almost new Logitech G9X on a lucky auction for half the price of a new piece. Didn't matter what exactly mouse it was, it was basically a good bargain. Otherwise I might've gone Steelseries.

What games do you play? If you play RTS or anything fast-paced, you may want a light-weight mouse, compact or small, or just light in weight, like the new Steelseries Kana or Kinzu v. 2 (around 70 grams of weight each). For shooters, lazier strategies and RPGs, a palm-gripper might be better (big and comfy).

Well, as you can see, this topic is a little old and I did buy the mouse, my opinions are that it is a good mouse... is it £100 good, nah.

alot of it is a gimick, the removable weights are pointless, 42grams of weight difference isnt noticeable, it has plenty of moving parts but I still cant get it to really fit to my hand.
The only time Ive found the precision aim button useful is on skyrim for lockpicking, in FPS games I dont need it to aim.
The alterable DPS isnt really useful, most games allow you to set a mouse speed suitable to you, and I havent found a real use for multiple speeds in many games, the best use fot this setting has come in games where mouse speed slows down annoyingly for certain tasks: for example, Assassins Creed Brotherhood where you use the cannon and Mass Effect 2 when probing planets for minerals, bump up the DPS and these tasks are no longer tiresome.
Likewise Ive never found a use for multimple button profiles, it just seems pointless.

The battery life is excellent and the sensor it top notch, it does sometimes freeze however - software issue?

To sum up, this mouse may help someone who is utterly hopeless at games, if they cant shoot straight or if they react slowly to a dast appearing foe, these things may help them but to me, its more of a spaceage looking regular mouse.

    It got good reviews.

You can experiment with setting the DPI high on the mouse, and sensitivity low in the game.

All mice have a driver that is not top notch. Or a firmware update. I can only speak from a Razer point of view since I play with those for a long time.

    Couldn't agree more.

I tested a similar Gamer-Mouse at a friends, and I realized instantly that his mouse had more buttons and wheels than my brain synapses!:D

lots of things get good reviews, but there's a difference between reviewing something and using it every day.
