Now, I know that Weidu is pretty much the norm for creating kits (at least, as far as I know), but the thing is, I just can't get the hang of any kind of code, not least of which Weidu. hell, even DarkBASIC had me stumped. What I'm asking is, are there any other kit-building utilities that have a more idiot-friendly interface?

I have both good and bad news for you.

I'll start with the good. TeamBG, www.teambg.eu has such a tool. No, it's not related with the old KitEditor (which I don't know), it's a brand-new tool which generates WeiDU code automatically when you're done.

The bad news is, it isn't released yet. According to the information I have, its development was finished, but documentation has been in progress for some weeks.

I haven't tried it though, I don't have time so I didn't apply to be a tester. I hope it will be good.

I've helped test the new TBG's kit tool, and it seems to work correctly and has a very intuitive GUI. :) So when it is available I am sure it will see a lot of use!

You'll still need to be familiar with the format of .SPL files, though, so that could be something to get used to in the meantime.

CamDawg's written a very good tutorial series in kit making which may help with some of your WeiDU woes; you can find the first part here: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=584
