If you dont understand that "computer mumbo jumbo" then forget about creating new items, it is not a trivial task.

But, I'll post the link just to confuse the hell out of you...
    www.teambg.com

That web site is where you will find the tools you need to create new items/spells... and is the most f***ed up piece of web design I have ever seen! Confusing and ugly, whoever designed that layout should be shot.

    Anyway, have fun! :)

PS: As if the design wasn't bad enough they have a real bad attitude there, if you don't conform to their views you will be EXTERMINATED! EXTERMINATED! EXTERMINATED! (or maybe assimilated).

we have a bad attitude do we?

wanna run that by me again eh?

and i like the design. I get paid to make websites, and i know a good design when i see one it's well liad out and easy to use, obviously some people are strange and odd.

it seems that people need to stop judging others!

There's a IEE 'pro' editor on TeamBG's web site. You have to use Internet Explorer to download it, as it doesn't play nicely with Netscape. I found this out the hard way. There's a questionare you'll have to answer in order to download it. The answers are mostly common sense. Basically, they want you to say TeamBG is *not* chaotic evil, neutral evil, or lawful evil.

Anyway, the editor is fairly straight forward. I used Shadowkeeper to scroll down the list of available items, and 'exported' an item that was somewhat similiar to what I was wanting. I also exported several other items which had 'attributes' which I wanted. For example, I liked the resistance to fear of the Avenger, the slaying ability of the Crom Fayer, and the fire damage of one of the swords. I used the Infinity Engine Editor Pro to look at all the items, and see how they are set up and how to give them the attributes. Such as +10 points of fire damage, or protection from opcode 24 (horror). It's not really complex because it is well documented, but you'll have to mess around with it because of all the options in the drop down menus. The best way to start out is to just look at other items which you know the attributes for, and look through it to see what does what.

After that, you can create one from scratch (which I don't like to do), or load up a 'template' weapon and just edit it. That way you don't have to memorize the filenames of icons. You're wanting a staff, so edit the 'template' for the Staff of Power or Magi.

You can make a staff that hits with a fireball spell every single time, or 50% of the time, or hits with a flame strike. You can make it usable by every single character that you could ever possibly create. You can edit a halbeard that is one handed, can be used by mages, and hits the target with a 'Finger of Death' every time.

    IEE pro rules!
